For the last few months we’ve been going through the chaos of the packing, preparing, and moving out of state. We finally moved out of the state, but it’s seriously been more than a few months since I wrote in my novel.
As of the last word count I did, I had over 40,000 words written, with only about 10,000 words to go. I left it at that and wasn’t able to continue for the longest time. Although, I felt as if I had an itch I couldn’t scratch because I felt really horrible that I hadn’t yet completed the book.
I remembered that I needed to cut myself some slack because most writers are not going through the moving process, while trying to complete a book. At the same time, if the writter is published and successful, they have enough money to pay for people to pack things for them and move them. Without really moving an inch or raising a finger. Must be nice…
But, now that I feel most of the mess of the move is behind us, I decided to get back on top of this book and trying to complete it. I’m hoping that we are then able to find a good publisher that’s willing to work with us and hopefully start publishing my masterpiece.
At this point, I’m trying not to bite off more than I can chew, so I’m honestly thinking only one step at a time. I’m trying not to overwhelm myself with the knowledge of the battle with publishers that lies ahead of us. I just hope for the best.
I must keep on diligently working to get my book published, continue writing and exploring and delving into every corner of my nogin to figure out how to make my books fun, enticing, juicy, terrifying, electrifying, and intreaging, while keeping the reader ready and willing for a scare around every corner… That much I’ve accomplished so far, and I hope to continue doing so until the very end of every novel I write. That’s what keeps me going.
