Anyone that really knows me well, knows that I’m a novice interior decorator. For a long time, I considered taking this field of study, as my major in college, but never really took that step.
But, I’m a fanof color. I love to paint every room in the house a different color and plan a whole scheme around the color. You’d be surprised how much color can effect your mood.
When living in an apartment, you’re pretty much at the mercy of the landlord, so you can’t really touch the walls or put up any cool curtains or anything like that, so the walls stay very plane and ugly looking.
The thing I miss the most about being a home owner is my chance to make a house a home. Once I entered my home, all my worries fell by the wasteside and I was able to completely unwind. I don’t really have that opportunity anymore, since we’re renting and I can’t really change any color decisions that the landlord has made.
So, if you are lucky enough to own your own home, don’t look past planning to color every room in the colors on the color wheel, to make it feel much more lived in and homey…
I’ll continue to sit here and dream of the day, we’ll be able to purchase our dreamhome and make it into something special.
